The setting- or rather, settings- of The Sea of Lucidity are the most unique part of the book. However, the book, while not making any sense, fits this mishmash of ideas into one cohesive story. Rather than stick to one idea, it seems the author had so many ideas, he didn’t know what to do with them: so he shoved them all into one book. Originally intended as a standalone novel, this gripping tale now also introduces an inspired new fantasy series which will appeal to those looking to discover and explore a myriad of worlds, all intrinsically linked and in which there exists an infinite number of everything and everyone.The Sea of Lucidity, by David Mackay, is the most novel concept I’ve read in a book, possibly ever. Remaining sceptical of all he is being told by his new-found companions, yet unable to deny the things he has seen, Taro Brook's resilience is put to the harshest test of all when he is confronted with a chilling revelation.
